Spencer Strider and Sean Murphy, Braves

Strider (recovery from elbow surgery) made a rehab start for Triple-A Gwinnett on March 29, allowing one run in three innings while throwing 60 pitches and striking out six batters.

Murphy (cracked left rib) will likely begin a rehab assignment with High-A Rome on April 4.

Shohei Ohtani, Tony Gonsolin, Evan Phillips and Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers

Ohtani (recovery from right elbow surgery) threw 20 pitches in a bullpen session on March 29 before the Dodgers' series finale vs. the Tigers, his first BP session since Feb. 25.

Gonsolin (back tightness) has progressed to facing live hitters.

Phillips (torn muscle in right rotator cuff) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions and facing live hitters.

Kershaw (recovery from left toe and left knee surgeries) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions and was set to face live hitters for the first time on March 29.

Manny Machado, Padres

Machado exited the game on March 29 against the Braves with right calf tightness after he experienced pain during a swing in the fourth inning.

José Ramírez, Guardians

Ramírez left Cleveland's game on March 29 against the Royals after spraining his right wrist on an awkward dive into second base. He was out of the lineup March 30.

Max Scherzer, Blue Jays

Scherzer was placed on the 15-day injured list with right thumb inflammation on March 30, one day after exiting his Blue Jays debut early due to lat soreness related to his recurring thumb issue.

Josh Jung, Rangers

The Rangers plan to place Jung on the 10-day IL due to neck spasms, manager Bruce Bochy said on March 30.

Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto and Ranger Suárez, Phillies

Turner was scratched from the Phillies' lineup against the Nationals on March 29 because of a lower back spasm. He remained out on March 30.

Realmuto left the club's March 29 game against the Nationals in the seventh inning because of a bruised left foot. The Phillies said they removed him for precautionary reasons after he fouled a pitch off his foot in the sixth inning. He was out of the lineup March 30.

Suárez (low back stiffness) has been placed on the 15-day IL. The left-hander will be eligible to be activated as early as April 8, but he will need more time than that, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said on March 24.

Josh Lowe and Shane McClanahan, Rays

After recording his first hit in his second at-bat of the season on March 28, Lowe exited the game due to right oblique discomfort. One day later, the Rays placed Lowe on the 10-day IL.

McClanahan has been placed on the 15-day injured list with nerve irritation in his left triceps.

Gunnar Henderson, Grayson Rodriguez and Albert Suárez, Orioles

Henderson (mild right intercostal strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on March 28 and could return as early as next week.

Rodriguez (right elbow inflammation), who was placed on the 15-day IL on March 27, is now routinely playing catch from 75 feet.

Suárez has been placed on the 15-day IL with right shoulder inflammation.

Gleyber Torres, Tigers

Torres (left rib tightness) exited Detroit's game on March 28 after feeling pain on a home run swing and was out of the lineup on March 29.

Nick Gonzales and Jared Jones, Pirates

Gonzales suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left ankle after homering in the sixth inning on Opening Day. He was placed on the 10-day IL on March 28.

Jones (right elbow UCL sprain) reported discomfort after his bullpen session on March 16, which turned out to be a right UCL sprain. He suffered no structural damage and will not need surgery, but he will not pick up a baseball for six weeks.

Jo Adell, Angels

Adell left the Angels' March 29 game against the White Sox with left hip tightness and was out of the lineup March 30.

Clarke Schmidt, Giancarlo Stanton and Ian Hamilton, Yankees

Schmidt has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right rotator cuff tendonitis. He has also been dealing with back stiffness, general manager Brian Cashman said.

Stanton (right and left elbow epicondylitis) resumed hitting indoors on March 29.

Hamilton (viral illness) started a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on March 29.

Jeff McNeil, Sean Manaea, Paul Blackburn and Francisco Alvarez, Mets

McNeil (right oblique strain) has been cleared to resume baseball activities, including swinging a bat.

Manaea (strained right oblique) resumed throwing on March 10 and is in the midst of a full Spring Training-style progression, which should take the better part of six weeks.

Blackburn (right knee inflammation) is expected to resume throwing on March 31.

Alvarez (fractured left hamate bone) had his stitches removed on March 24 and began performing catching drills on March 29.

Jerar Encarnacion, Giants

Encarnacion had surgery to repair his left hand fracture on March 28 in Los Angeles. The Giants expect him to return to action in approximately eight weeks.

Tyler Stephenson, Reds

Stephenson's left oblique strain showed "vast improvement" in his latest MRI, manager Terry Francona said on March 29. The catcher has another MRI scheduled for April 7.

Austin Gomber, Rockies

Gomber (left shoulder soreness) started for Triple-A Albuquerque on March 28. He's scheduled to make another start on April 3 and will be eligible to return from the 15-day injured list on April 8.
