Jazz Chisholm Jr., DJ LeMahieu, Giancarlo Stanton and Marcus Stroman, Yankees
Chisholm exited the April 29 game against the Orioles after appearing to injure himself on a swing prior to a first-inning double. Chisholm was diagnosed with "right flank discomfort," the Yankees said.
LeMahieu (left calf strain) received a cortisone injection in his right hip on April 29 after he "felt something coming on," according to manager Aaron Boone. LeMahieu missed the final two months of the Yankees' 2024 season with a right hip impingement.
Stanton (torn tendons in both elbows) remained in New York to continue workouts, including running and on-field work, as of April 28.
Stroman (left knee inflammation) has resumed playing catch but was still experiencing discomfort as of April 28, per Boone.
Cristopher Sánchez, Brandon Marsh and Ranger Suárez, Phillies
Sánchez (left forearm soreness) threw his April 27 bullpen without issue and is expected to start April 30 against the Nationals.
Marsh (right hamstring strain) left his April 27 rehab game with Triple-A Lehigh Valley after experiencing cramping in his injured hamstring. He has been evaluated and could resume his rehab stint this week.
Suárez (lower back stiffness) made his fourth rehab start on April 27 with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Per manager Rob Thomson, the Phillies have yet to determine whether he will make another appearance in the Minors before being activated.
A.J. Minter, Brooks Raley and Paul Blackburn Mets
Mets officials are in the process of reviewing multiple medical opinions on Minter's left lat muscle, which he injured on April 26 against the Nationals. Among the potential options is surgery, which would cost Minter the rest of the season.
Raley (recovery from Tommy John surgery) re-signed with the Mets on April 29 and immediately went on the IL. He has been throwing regular bullpen sessions is slated to face live hitters at some point in May.
Blackburn (right knee inflammation) threw a bullpen session at Citi Field on April 29.
Shota Imanaga, Cubs
Imanaga exited his start on April 29 against the Pirates in the sixth inning due to leg cramps.
Shane McClanahan and Josh Lowe, Rays
McClanahan (left triceps nerve irritation) has begun throwing-like activities -- throwing without a baseball -- as of April 29.
Lowe (grade 2 right oblique strain) took batting practice on April 26 and 29 with the intent of progressing to live BP on May 2 and potentially beginning a rehab assignment on May 3.
Lance McCullers Jr., Astros
McCullers (right flexor tendon surgery) is slated to start on May 4 against the White Sox. It will be his first appearance in an MLB game since Game 3 of the 2022 World Series.
Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers
Glasnow was placed on the 15-day IL on April 28 with right shoulder inflammation.
Kershaw (left toe and left knee surgeries) had his scheduled April 29 rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City pushed back due to inclement weather.
Cole Ragans, Royals
Ragans was diagnosed with a “very mild left groin strain” after leaving his start against the Rockies on April 24 with tightness in the area. He won't make his scheduled April 30 start against Rays, but will throw a bullpen session to help determine when he could start next.
Kyle Bradish, Jordan Westburg, Gary Sánchez and Zach Eflin, Orioles
Bradish (Tommy John surgery) threw a side session on April 28 and remains on track for a return sometime around August.
Westburg (left hamstring strain) and Sánchez (right wrist inflammation) were placed on the 10-day injured list on April 28.
Eflin (right lat strain) completed the second bullpen session of his throwing progression on April 29.
George Kirby, Dylan Moore, Luke Raley and Logan Gilbert, Mariners
Kirby (right shoulder inflammation) threw his first live batting practice since the injury on April 28 and said that he "felt great." His next steps could be a Minor League rehab assignment, which could come as soon as May 4.
Moore was placed on the 10-day IL on April 29, retroactive to April 26, with right hip inflammation.
Raley tweaked his back and side area on a swing during batting practice and was scratched before the April 29 game against the Angels.
Gilbert has been diagnosed with a mild (Grade 1) flexor strain. He will be shut down from throwing for two weeks, after which time he will be reevaluated to determine his next steps.
Royce Lewis, Luke Keaschall, Willi Castro and Matt Wallner, Twins
Lewis (left hamstring strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on April 25. He will likely need to play back-to-back days in the field on his rehab assignment before he is activated. The next homestand seems to be a likely target.
Keaschall (non-displaced right forearm fracture) does not need surgery at this time, but it will likely be "a couple months" before he's playing in games again.
Castro (right oblique strain) has resumed most baseball activities other than hitting left-handed. The Twins hope to have a better read sometime in the middle of the week as to when he may return.
Wallner (left hamstring strain) is jogging and playing catch but has not resumed any other baseball activities.
Iván Herrera, Cardinals
Herrera (left knee bone bruise) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on May 1.
AJ Smith-Shawver, Braves
Smith-Shawver left his April 29 start against the Rockies in the sixth inning after being hit in the right arm by a 105.3 mph line drive off the bat of Ryan McMahon.
Brandon Woodruff and Aaron Civale, Brewers
Woodruff (right shoulder surgery) threw 61 pitches (five innings) for Triple-A Nashville on April 24. He's scheduled to pitch again with High-A Wisconsin on April 30.
Civale (left hamstring cramping) recently threw a bullpen (one up-down) and then 25 pitches of live batting practice April 29 in Appleton (High-A Wisconsin).
Max Scherzer, Blue Jays
Scherzer (right thumb inflammation) threw off a mound again April 29 in Toronto, ramping up his pitch count slightly from last week's 27-pitch session.
Connor Wong, Masataka Yoshida and Lucas Giolito, Red Sox
Wong (left pinkie fracture) continued his Minors rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester on April 29 and could return on May 2 for the start of the homestand against the Twins.
Yoshida (right shoulder labrum tear) is still having trouble progressing with his throwing program and will visit with Boston's training staff when the team returns home on May 2.
Giolito (low grade left hamstring strain) is expected to make his Red Sox debut on April 30 against the Blue Jays.
Jeimer Candelario, Tyler Stephenson and Austin Hays, Reds
Candelario (lumbar spine strain) was placed on the 10-day injured list on April 30.
Stephenson (left oblique strain) was slated to catch for Triple-A Louisville on April 29 at Memphis, and he will do so again April 30 and in the doubleheader on May 1 before the Reds make a decision.
Hays tweaked his left hamstring while running the bases in the sixth inning on April 28, and he underwent an MRI on April 29.
Slade Cecconi, Lane Thomas and Paul Sewald, Guardians
Cecconi (left oblique strain) will start for Triple-A Columbus on April 30 as he begins a rehab assignment.
Thomas (right wrist bone bruise) was scheduled to take dry swings and perform outfield drills on April 29.
Sewald was placed on the 15-day IL on April 29 with right shoulder inflammation.
Paul DeJong and Cade Cavalli, Nationals
DeJong underwent surgery on April 28 to repair his fractured nose. He is expected to be sidelined from all baseball activities until late May/early June.
Cavalli (Tommy John surgery) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on April 29.
Beau Brieske and Manuel Margot, Tigers
Brieske (right ankle inflammation) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with High-A West Michigan on April 30. He could rejoin the Tigers during their current road trip, according to manager A.J. Hinch.
Margot (left patellar tendon strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on April 29.
Zack Gelof, Athletics
Gelof (right hamate fracture) was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on April 29.
