JUPITER, Fla. – Want to catch future Marlins all in one place? Well, you’re in luck.

Twenty-six of Miami’s top 30 prospects feature on this year’s Spring Breakout roster -- tied with Kansas City for most among all organizations. In fact, when using a system that awards 30 points for a team’s No. 1 prospect, 29 for No. 2 and so forth, the Marlins lead all teams. It’s another example of Miami’s commitment to developing and showcasing its young talent.

What is Spring Breakout?
MLB Spring Breakout is a four-day event showcasing baseball’s future: the current stars of Minor League Baseball. The second edition will be held from March 13-16 at Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums during Spring Training. Sixteen exhibition games will be played between teams comprised of each MLB organization’s top prospects, creating a new touchpoint on the baseball calendar that celebrates the sport’s budding talent.

When is the Marlins' game?
March 14 against the Cardinals at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. First pitch is at 12:10 p.m. ET.

Which position players are expected to play?
Marlins fans will get their first look at teenage shortstops Starlyn Caba (No. 80 overall) and Andrew Salas. Caba was acquired in the Jesús Luzardo trade, while Salas (Marlins No. 5 prospect) was the headliner of Miami’s 2025 international class.

Outfielders PJ Morlando (No. 6) and Dillon Head (No. 7) also are slated to appear after abbreviated organizational debuts in 2024. Morlando, who was selected 16th overall in last summer’s MLB Draft, recorded just one plate appearance for Single-A Jupiter before a back injury shut him down. Head, picked up in the Luis Arraez trade, underwent season-ending hip surgery after three games for the Hammerheads.

Which pitching prospects are expected to play?
For the second consecutive year, Miami’s top two pitching prospects – Thomas White and Noble Meyer – could go back-to-back in the showcase. This time around, however, White (No. 41 overall prospect) ranks higher than Meyer (No. 84) on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list.

Lefties Robby Snelling (Marlins No. 8 prospect) and Dax Fulton (No. 14) as well as righty Adam Mazur (No. 13) are still in big league camp but made the Spring Breakout roster. There are fewer innings to go around as Spring Training progresses, which could make the trio available for the exhibition.

Why are certain top prospects not listed on the roster?
Outfielder Jakob Marsee (No. 24) is rehabbing a lower level right oblique strain, so he was reassigned to Minor League camp on Monday. The 23-year-old recently resumed baseball activities.

MLB Network visited Jupiter to preview the Marlins' season as part of its "30 Clubs in 15 Days" special.

Below is an excerpt from MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis on the Marlins’ new Top 30 prospects list.

After a playoff run in 2023, the Marlins lost 24 of their first 30 games to open last season and first-year president of baseball operations Peter Bendix got to work on a franchise makeover. He shipped Luis Arraez to the Padres for four prospects on May 4. Bendix has executed a dozen more trades in the 10 months since, acquiring 19 additional Minor Leaguers.

Our new Marlins Top 30 includes 19 prospects who weren’t in the organization a year ago, including 13 who arrived via deals, a contingent led by Caba, Ramírez, Head, Snelling and De Los Santos (who led the Minors with 40 homers). New scouting director Frankie Piliere kicked off his first Draft with two hitters he coveted, Morlando and Johnson. Salas, one of the most talented players on the 2025 international market, signed for $3.7 million in January.
