PLAY BALL Weekend
PLAY BALL Weekend
The St. Louis Cardinals and Cardinals Care were excited to join Major League Baseball in celebrating PLAY BALL Weekend on June 13-15. The team hosted a number of activations to encourage children to engage with the games of baseball and softball as part of MLB’s PLAY BALL initiative. The Cardinals PLAY BALL Celebration, presented by Nike, kicked off a week earlier on Friday, June 6th at Busch Stadium. Although weather conditions forced a cancellation of the on-field clinic taught by Cardinals Alumni, over 400 kids ages 7-13 still received two free tickets to an upcoming Cardinals game, a Cardinals Nike T-Shirt, a PLAY BALL bat and ball set and more! In addition to the PLAY BALL event at Busch Stadium, the Cardinals Nike RBI PLAY BALL Invitational took place on June 13-15 at Forest Park Aviation Fields. Baseball and softball teams from Cardinals Nike RBI were set to compete in a round-robin tournament throughout the weekend but weather unfortunately cancelled gameplay on Saturday and Sunday. Lastly, on Saturday, June 15, Cardinals Care hosted three Redbird Rookies Clinics, presented by QuikTrip, at Stars Park Field. Cardinals Alumni led each clinic and over 300 participants received an autographed commemorative baseball and a Redbird Rookies branded cooling towel, thanks to the partnership with QuikTrip.
