ANAHEIM -- Spring Training is fast approaching for the Angels, who were active early in the offseason in improving the club and could still make more additions before Opening Day.

The club is coming off a tough 99-loss season but is encouraged by its young core and hoping for better health from superstar Mike Trout. The Halos made several key additions this offseason, such as signing lefty Yusei Kikuchi to a three-year deal and trading for slugger Jorge Soler.

The question remains whether the Angels can contend in 2025, but here’s a look at what to expect in Spring Training for the club, with the answers to several frequently asked questions:

When is the first workout for pitchers and catchers?

Pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 11. The first workout is set for Feb. 12.

What is the date of the first full-squad workout?

Position players report Feb. 16. The first full workout will be held Feb. 17.

Where is the team’s facility?

The Angels play their home games at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. They have been renovating the complex and added new pitching and hitting labs that will debut this spring. They also upgraded the clubhouse, weight room facilities and team offices. More renovations are scheduled for the stadium and fan experience for next year.

Can fans attend workouts?

Yes, fans can watch the workouts on the lower fields across the parking lot from the main ballpark.

Who are some new faces fans should know?

The Angels made several additions via free agency and trades this offseason, including acquiring starting pitchers Kikuchi and Kyle Hendricks; catcher Travis d’Arnaud; slugger Soler and infielders Kevin Newman, Scott Kingery, Ryan Noda, Tim Anderson and J.D. Davis. Anderson and Davis are on Minor League deals and will compete for roster spots.

Who are some of the top prospects invited to Major League camp?

The Angels will have most of their top prospects in camp, including second baseman Christian Moore, the No. 68 overall prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, and right-hander Caden Dana, who is ranked No. 78. Other notable prospects include right-handers Ryan Johnson and Chris Cortez; lefty Sam Aldegheri; infielders David Mershon, Cole Fontenelle and Niko Kavadas; outfielders Nelson Rada and Matthew Lugo and catchers Juan Flores and Dario Laverde. They also selected lefty Garrett McDaniels from the Dodgers in the Rule 5 Draft, and he’ll compete for a roster spot.

When is the team’s first Cactus League game?

The Angels open against the Mariners on Feb. 22 at 12:10 p.m. PT (1:10 p.m. MT) at Tempe Diablo Stadium.

What are a few other notable spring games?

The Angels play the Dodgers at Camelback Ranch on Feb. 28 and host them at Tempe Diablo Stadium on March 5. Spring Breakout, which features the club’s top prospects, will be held on March 15 against the Cubs’ top prospects at Sloan Park at 6:05 p.m. PT.

Will the team’s games be televised?

The club has yet to announce its broadcast schedule, but nearly every game is usually broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network West (formerly Bally Sports West) and MLB.TV.

When is the club’s last game in Arizona?

The Angels conclude Cactus League play with split-squad action at home against the Rangers and at the Rockies on March 21. The home game is at 12:10 p.m. PT; the road game at Salt River Fields is at 1:10 p.m. PT.

Will there be any additional exhibitions before the regular season?

The Angels have their annual Freeway Series against the Dodgers and will play at Dodger Stadium on March 23 at 5:10 p.m. PT before hosting their rivals at Angel Stadium on March 24-25 at 6:07 p.m. PT.

What are the details for Opening Day?

The Halos open on the road against the White Sox at Rate Field on March 27 at 1:10 p.m. PT. Their home opener is set for April 4 against the Guardians at 6:38 p.m. PT.

The Angels' list of non-roster invitees to Major League Spring Training includes 26 players, with a mix of top prospects and veterans. The list includes 10 right-handers, two left-handers, four catchers, eight infielders and two outfielders.

Notably, club No. 3 prospect George Klassen, Moore, and Rada will be in Major League camp as well as veterans such as right-hander Dakota Hudson, left-hander Victor González and infielders Yolmer Sánchez, Carter Kieboom, Anderson and Davis.

Los Angeles signed González to a Minor League deal in January, but it wasn’t reported until Tuesday, when the non-roster invitees were announced. González, 29, posted a 3.86 ERA with 11 strikeouts and 13 walks in 23 1/3 innings with the Yankees last season.

González previously pitched with the Dodgers from 2020-21 and ’23, posting a combined 3.22 ERA with 86 strikeouts in 89 1/3 innings. The Mexico native gives Los Angeles another option from the left side, and he will compete for a spot in the bullpen.

B) Taylor Ward

Ward hit 25 homers to lead the club last season, and Neto was second with 23.
